About Laura E.
Laura E. Kenney earned her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2008, where she studied health law. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, receiving a B.A. in sociology in 2003. That same year she also finished a post-graduate certificate in public relations at Humber College. Her educational path combines legal training with social science and communications, a mix that shaped her early approach to client work and public service.
Her first roles in the profession were practical and varied. In 2007 she worked as a law clerk at Hinman Straub P.C., gaining experience in legal research and firm workflow. During law school she spent a summer in 2008 as a legal intern at Bobo, Ciotoli, Bocchino, White, Buigas & Corsini, P.A., a placement that exposed her to courtroom procedures and attorney collaboration. Those early positions preceded her move into public-sector work in Florida.
In 2010 Kenney joined the Palm Beach County State Lawyer’s Office as an Assistant State Lawyer. She served there from the start of the decade, taking on responsibilities typical of public defense and representation at the county level. That role came after she became a member of the Florida Bar in 2009 and before she joined the Palm Beach County Bar Association as a member in 2010. Her membership in both organizations remains current.
In 2016 she opened her own practice, the Law Office of Laura E. Kenney. As owner and principal, she manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and oversees client matters. Running a small practice has required attention to case management, client communication, and the administrative demands of a law office. She has maintained an active presence in the local bar since establishing the firm.
Kenney is licensed in Florida and also holds admission in the District of Columbia. Her academic background in health law informs some aspects of her legal perspective, and her earlier study of public relations supports how she advises clients about communications and procedural expectations. She has blended those strands into practical counsel rather than a single narrow specialty.
Colleagues and clients describe Kenney as approachable and thorough in handling legal tasks. She has worked across public and private settings and has steadily built a practice in Florida while keeping ties to professional groups in Palm Beach County. As of 2026 she continues to operate the Law Office of Laura E. Kenney, focusing her practice on client representation and legal services in her admitted jurisdictions.
