About Larry R. Rogers

Larry R. Rogers Jr. earned a B.S. in Managerial and Agricultural Economics from the University of California, Davis in 1990 and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1993. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois. The combination of an economics undergraduate degree and legal training gave him a foundation in both analysis and advocacy.

After law school, Rogers built a practice centered on courtroom work. He has long been associated with trial bar groups and civil rights organizations. Those memberships have shaped the kinds of matters he takes and the professional circles in which he operates. He has maintained an Illinois practice and developed experience handling contested matters that proceed to trial.

Rogers belongs to a broad range of professional organizations. He holds memberships in the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the National Bar Association, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, the Cook County Bar Association, the NAACP, and the Illinois State Bar. These affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with trial advocacy and with organizations that address legal and civic issues in his community.

His day-to-day work is courtroom-facing. Rogers handles litigation and trial matters in Illinois courts and participates in the full process from pleading to verdict. He represents clients in contested proceedings and prepares cases for trial. He also draws on his undergraduate background in economics when cases raise complex financial or business questions.

Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who combines practical courtroom experience with steady legal analysis. He balances short-term tactical decisions in active cases with longer-term strategic planning for litigation. He has continued to refine his approach through participation in professional groups and by staying active in the Illinois legal community.

Rogers practices at Power Rogers & Smith, P.C., where he continues to try cases in Illinois courts. He currently devotes his practice to litigation and trial work in state courts in Illinois.
