About Larry N.

Larry N. Burch is a seasoned trial attorney based in Greenbelt, Maryland, with a focus on personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, and military law. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and he has the distinction of being able to represent clients before the U.S. Supreme Court. His extensive qualifications include certification under Article 27(b), which highlights his expertise in military law—a critical area given his background. Mr. Burch earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1993.

After graduating, he gained inexperience as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Audrey Melbourne in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland. This position provided him with insights into the judicial process, which he later applied in his legal career. Following his clerkship, he joined the U.S. Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps), where he developed his skills as a trial attorney. His exemplary service earned him the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, recognizing his outstanding contributions to military justice. In 1996, Mr. Burch transitioned to civilian practice, founding Burch Law Firm, LLC.

His firm handles a diverse array of cases, including medical malpractice, auto accidents, business and corporate litigation, family law, and matters related to military personnel. Over the years, he has represented clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before military courts and personnel boards. His advocacy for military and uniformed service members is particularly noteworthy, as he specializes in courts-martial, security clearance revocation hearings, administrative hearings, Boards of Inquiry, and internal command investigations. Mr. Burch has made significant contributions to the field of military law, appearing as a commentator on Fox 5 News and WUSA-TV 9 in Washington, D.C. His insights have helped inform the public about complex legal issues affecting military families. Additionally, he authored "Understanding Military Divorce Law" (Aspatore Books, 2016), a comprehensive guide aimed at assisting military families navigating divorce or separation.

In August 2019, Mr. Burch joined McMillan Metro, P.C. as a Partner, where he continued to practice in military and family law. His return to Burch Law Firm, LLC in January 2022 marked a new chapter in his career. This lets the attorney further serve his clients from his office located at 7850 Walker Drive, Suite 160, Greenbelt, Maryland 20770.
