About Laquita R

Laquita R Stokes built a steady path from the classroom to the courtroom. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Vanderbilt University in 2002 and later took her legal training at the University of Kentucky College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2009. The academic credentials provide the foundation for a practice anchored in Tennessee.

Stokes has been active in the Tennessee legal community for years. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and has worked with local and national bar organizations. From 2019 she has served on the board of the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association and held its presidency. She also served on the Memphis Bar Association Board of Directors from 2019 to 2022. Those roles put her in regular contact with judges, public officials and fellow lawyers across the state.

Early in her career Stokes moved into practice in Tennessee and developed experience on matters that brought her before state courts and tribunals. She has balanced casework and organizational service. The combination of courtroom time and bar leadership has shaped a practical view of how legal processes affect clients and communities.

Her colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She tends to break problems into their parts and address them step by step. That style has informed her practice at a firm she helped shape. STOKES & GLASS, PLLC is listed as her current firm, where she pursues day-to-day client representation and firm management responsibilities.

Outside the office, Stokes has remained involved in professional development and community legal efforts. Her service on boards and in chapter leadership has included mentoring younger lawyers and participating in programs aimed at broadening access to legal services. Those activities reflect an interest in the institutional side of the profession as well as individual client matters.

She maintains an active practice in Tennessee and manages work through STOKES & GLASS, PLLC. Her current practice centers on serving the legal needs of clients in Tennessee and handling matters filed in state venues.
