About Lance Scott

Lance Scott Rogers built his academic foundation at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.A. in 1996 and an M.A. in 1997. He later earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. The combination of liberal arts and graduate study before law school gave him a broad view of legal issues and the context in which they arise.

He began his legal career soon after law school. Early roles included traditional firm work and matter-based assignments that exposed him to courtroom procedures and client counseling. Over time he moved into positions that combined case handling with advisory responsibilities. Colleagues describe him as concise in court filings and attentive in client meetings.

Rogers has handled a range of matters across transactional and dispute settings. He has experience drafting contracts, preparing motions, and managing discovery. That practical work is paired with time spent on strategic planning for clients facing complex decisions. He has also worked on regulatory questions and compliance reviews, tasks that require careful document review and clear explanations to nonlawyers.

Outside of casework, Rogers has maintained professional relationships through continuing legal education and association participation. He keeps current on changes in law by attending seminars and engaging with peers. Those activities feed into the way he approaches new matters: methodically, with an eye toward practical solutions rather than abstract theory.

He serves as counsel at Rogers Counsel. In that role he balances client-facing responsibilities with internal case strategy and file management. Day-to-day work includes client consultations, drafting pleadings and agreements, and coordinating with experts when needed. He also contributes to mentoring more junior staff on effective legal drafting and procedure.

Rogers’s written work shows a focus on clarity. Whether preparing a brief or a transactional document, he favors plain language and logical organization. That approach helps clients understand risks and options, and it streamlines the work required to reach resolutions. He is known for steady, thorough preparation rather than for courtroom theatrics.

Today he practices as counsel at Rogers Counsel, where he concentrates on advising clients and managing a mix of transactional and litigation matters.
