About LaDonna M.
LaDonna M. Cousins built her foundation in the law at Georgetown University and Temple University Beasley School of Law. She earned a B.A. from Georgetown in 2007 and a J.D. from Temple Law in 2011. Those years supplied both the classroom training and early courtroom exposure that shaped her practical approach to litigation and family law.
Her first positions after law school were in the courts. In 2010 she served as a legal assistant to Hon. Ida K. Chen in the Court of Common Pleas for the First Judicial District. She then clerked for Hon. Susan F. Maven, J.SC., at the Superior Court of New Jersey following her graduation. Those roles placed her inside day-to-day judicial work and gave her front-row experience with case management and opinion drafting.
Cousins moved into private practice in 2012. She worked at Berner Klaw & Watson, LLP and then at Miller, Meyerson & Corbo. In 2016 she joined Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, where she handled matters that are common to family courts. She later spent time at Rozin Golinder Law, LLC beginning in 2018. In 2022 she joined Williams Law Group, LLC as a lawyer and became a partner at the firm in 2023. That progression tracks steady advancement through firms that handle contested litigation and family law disputes.
Her practice sits in New Jersey. Cousins holds memberships in the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey. In 2023 she began service on the NJSBA Family Law Executive Committee for the 2023024 term, a role that has kept her engaged with colleagues on evolving procedural and substantive developments in family law.
Colleagues describe her work as methodical and case-oriented. She has handled matters across family court dockets, including contested divorce matters and related post-judgment disputes. Her courtroom experience dates back to her clerkship and continued through years of representing clients at both the trial and negotiation stages.
Outside the office she engages in bar activities that align with her courtroom practice and local bar associations. She maintains an active presence in Essex County legal circles while managing a caseload at Williams Law Group, LLC. She currently practices in New Jersey and focuses her work on family law and related litigation.
