About L. David
L. David Levinson built his legal foundation on a blend of technical training and formal legal study. He graduated from Purdue University’s College of Technology at South Bend/Elkhart in 1971. He then undertook law studies at St. Mary’s University School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1981 after beginning coursework in 1978. Between those milestones he completed community property coursework at the University of Texas at Austin in 1980.
His entry into the profession followed quickly after law school. He became a member in good standing of the Texas Bar Association in 1981 and joined the San Antonio Bar Association the following year. Those memberships indicate an early and continuing engagement with the legal community in Texas. He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, which allows him to handle matters at both the trial and appellate levels.
Levinson’s trajectory through law has been steady. Over the years he has combined courtroom participation and client counseling. His academic background in community property and a technical undergraduate degree have informed how he approaches complex factual and documentary issues. Admission to the Fifth Circuit reflects the capacity to pursue matters beyond the trial courts when appeals or federal questions arise.
He has operated under his own banner, The Law Offices of L. David Levinson, where he has managed casework and client relationships. Membership in local and state bar organizations has kept him connected to evolving rules and regional practice patterns. Those ties have also provided a platform for continuing legal education and peer exchange.
Colleagues and clients have encountered a practitioner who marshals academic preparation and courtroom experience in service of case strategy and procedural navigation. He is comfortable in state courts across Texas and in proceedings that reach the Fifth Circuit. That combination of admissions and memberships reflects a practice rooted in regional law and extends into federal appellate work.
He currently maintains a private practice through The Law Offices of L. David Levinson and represents clients in matters filed in Texas courts and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
