About Kyra

Kyra Burke began her academic path at the University of Washington, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2017. She went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2023. Those years framed her transition from social studies into the practice of law. The combination of a social-science undergraduate degree and a recent law degree informs how she approaches client matters. It also shaped the practical skills she brought into her early professional roles.

After law school, Burke moved into practice in Colorado. She is licensed to practice in that jurisdiction. Early in her career she gained experience on both sides of typical family law disputes. That period allowed her to work directly with clients and with other professionals who often appear in family courts, including mediators and financial specialists. The work demanded clear written advocacy and frequent negotiation. She developed courtroom experience as well as practice room skills for settlement discussions.

Burke’s practice centers on family law. She handles divorce matters, child custody and parenting time disputes, support calculations and related financial issues. She also works on case planning that considers children's needs and parents’ long-term financial health. She represents people at different stages of their cases, from initial filings through trial when it becomes necessary. In other matters she helps clients pursue or respond to temporary orders and motions that shape day-to-day arrangements during litigation.

Her approach is practical. She prepares for hearings carefully, but she also looks for opportunities to resolve disputes outside a courtroom where appropriate. She drafts pleadings and agreements and attends hearings when contested matters require a judge’s decision. She has worked in collaborative settlement settings as well as in adversarial litigation. Throughout, she aims to keep legal explanations direct and accessible so clients can weigh options and make decisions that reflect their priorities.

Burke practices at Modern Family Law in Colorado. She is an active member of the local legal community and continues to build experience in family law practice. She currently represents clients in a range of family law matters at Modern Family Law.
