About Kyle
Kyle Sawyer earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2011 after completing undergraduate studies in political science at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2008. He moved steadily from classroom to courtroom in the years that followed. His academic record set the stage for a career centered in Colorado.
Fresh out of law school, Sawyer joined O'Malley Law Office, P.C. as an associate in 2011. He spent the early years of his career there, handling matters that exposed him to courtroom procedure and client advocacy. Those formative years helped him learn how to manage cases from intake through hearing and trial preparation.
In 2018 he established Sawyer Legal Group, LLC and took on the role of owner and lead lawyer. Running his own practice has meant overseeing both the legal work and the business side of a small firm. He manages client relationships, directs litigation strategy, and handles the administrative responsibilities that come with practice ownership. The move to open his own firm marked a shift from employee to principal, and it allowed him to shape how legal services are delivered under his direction.
Sawyer is a member of multiple professional organizations. He has belonged to the Colorado Bar Association since 2013 and serves on the board of the Christian Legal Society, a role he has held since 2014. He is also a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with colleagues and participation in professional networks across the state.
Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers straightforward legal work and clear communication. He operates within Colorado’s legal system and directs his practice efforts toward matters arising under state law. Over time he has combined courtroom experience from his associate years with the responsibilities of firm ownership.
He continues to practice law in Colorado through Sawyer Legal Group, LLC, handling state-level matters and representing clients in proceedings within the state court system. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and related state matters.
