About Kristen E.

Kristen E. Lipschutz works at the intersection of law and family life. She has built a practice that concentrates on family law, and she appears regularly in state courts on behalf of clients navigating divorce, custody, support and related disputes.

Lipschutz began her academic path at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned a B.A. She continued her studies at Suffolk University Law School and received her J.D. there. Those years shaped her legal foundation and introduced her to the procedural and human sides of family litigation.

Her professional life is rooted in Boston-area practice. She is part of Hastings, Jamieson & Lipschutz Family Law Group LLP, where she represents individuals in contested and uncontested matters. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She prepares cases carefully, manages discovery, and argues motions and hearings when needed. Her courtroom work is balanced by attempts to resolve matters through negotiation when a negotiated solution serves the client.

Outside casework she has remained active in bar association work. She serves on the Family Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association and holds membership in the Boston Bar Association, where she participates in the pro bono committee. She is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association, the Lawrence Bar Association and the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court. Those memberships involve CLE programs, case rounds and collaborative conversations about emerging issues in family law.

Clients and other attorneys often encounter Lipschutz through public programs and volunteer work connected to those organizations. Her pro bono involvement through the Boston Bar Association committee reflects an interest in access to counsel for people who might otherwise go without representation. Participation in the Inn of Court keeps her engaged with peers on ethical and tactical questions that arise in family practice.

Her work often requires both legal analysis and a measure of practical problem-solving. She handles contested hearings as well as negotiated settlements, and she works on post-judgment modifications when circumstances change. Her courtroom appearances, council activity and committee work keep her immersed in the day-to-day practice and the broader professional conversation about family law in Massachusetts.

She currently practices family law at Hastings, Jamieson & Lipschutz Family Law Group LLP.
