About Krista M.

Krista M. Hosmer built her legal foundation at Albion College and Wayne State University Law School. She studied economics, management and philosophy as an undergraduate and earned her J.D. in 2005. Those academic years set the stage for a practice that moves between state and federal courts.

Her undergraduate training in Economics and Management and in Philosophy shaped how she approaches problems. At Wayne State, she trained in core areas of law and courtroom procedure. The combination of analytical coursework and law school practice gave her tools she still uses: close reading, argument construction, and attention to procedure.

Hosmer is licensed to practice in Michigan and Texas. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Those admissions reflect a practice that has both state and federal dimensions and require regular navigation of differing procedural rules.

Her professional path includes work at Mantese Honigman, P.C., where she is part of the firm’s team. At the firm she has handled matters that proceed in both state and federal forums. That experience means frequent courtroom filings, appearances, and the day-to-day management of cases through discovery and motion practice.

Colleagues describe her methodical approach to case preparation and courtroom work. She tends to favor careful document review and paced preparation over last-minute efforts. That approach is practical because litigation often turns on procedural choices made before trial. She applies the same method to motion practice and case strategy.

Outside of the courtroom, Hosmer’s background in economics and philosophy shows up in how she frames disputes. She looks for the factual and conceptual divides in a case. That habit helps in settlement discussions and in crafting written arguments that address both law and underlying facts.

She remains at Mantese Honigman, P.C., practicing in matters that involve state and federal court work. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in cases that proceed in both state and federal courts.
