About Kris

Kris Carrasco entered law school after completing undergraduate studies in philosophy and political science at the University of Southern California in 1999. Carrasco earned a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2005, where coursework and training concentrated on criminal law and procedure. That academic track shaped an early interest in the courtroom and the mechanics of criminal justice.

Carrasco is licensed to practice in California, Oregon and Washington. Professional memberships include the American Bar Association, the Washington Defender Association and the Clark County Bar Association, each of which Carrasco has listed as active since 2009. Those affiliations place Carrasco in regional networks that serve criminal defense lawyers and local bar communities.

Following law school, Carrasco’s career developed around criminal defense. The combination of a law degree focused on criminal law and association with the Washington Defender Association suggests sustained involvement in defense work. Carrasco has represented clients at various stages of criminal cases, including pretrial proceedings and hearings, and has worked with colleagues in multiple jurisdictions to address cross-border legal issues that arise when state lines intersect.

Courtroom work is a practical throughline in Carrasco’s professional story. Preparation for trials and hearings, understanding procedural rules and coordinating with investigators or experts are part of the routine. Carrasco’s memberships in both statewide and county bar groups reflect ongoing participation in continuing legal education and local legal community activities. Those activities help maintain familiarity with evolving criminal rules and case law across the states where Carrasco is licensed.

Colleagues describe Carrasco as methodical in case preparation and straightforward in court communications. The lawyer’s background in philosophy and political science appears in courtroom approach: an emphasis on clear argument structure and attention to legal theory when it matters to a case. Education and professional memberships inform practice choices rather than define them.

Today Carrasco remains active in the three-state practice area, drawing on years of criminal procedure study and practical defense experience. The current practice focuses on criminal defense matters across California, Oregon and Washington.
