About Kody
Kody Silva earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School. He arrived in practice with training in the core skills of litigation and client counseling. Law school placed him in settings where family law, courtroom procedure and client advocacy intersect. Those early experiences guided his path into family law.
Silva is licensed to practice in both Texas and the District of Columbia. He works within the state and regional legal communities, managing matters that run from routine negotiations to contested hearings. That range requires an ability to shift from collaborative problem-solving to firm courtroom advocacy when necessary.
He serves as a family lawyer at Deyerle Silva Smith, PLLC. In that role he represents individuals in a variety of domestic relations matters. He handles cases that include divorce and child custody. He also assists clients with child support issues and property division questions, and he represents clients in hearings and settlement talks.
Clients and colleagues describe his day-to-day work as a mix of negotiation and litigation. Many family law matters resolve before trial, so preparation for mediation or settlement is a constant part of his practice. When cases proceed to court, he presents evidence and arguments to judges and participates in hearings across the region.
