About Kirk R
Kirk R Lundell took an unlikely path to the practice of law. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Public Relations, then spent more than a decade in retail and corporate management before enrolling at Charlotte School of Law. He earned his J.D. in 2012 and moved quickly into courtroom work the following year.
His final year in law school included internships in two courts. In 2012 he served as a legal intern to the Honorable Frank D. Whitney at the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. That same year he also interned for the Honorable Calvin Murphy in the North Carolina Business Court. Those placements gave him direct exposure to both federal and business court dockets early in his legal training.
Before law, Lundell’s résumé reads like a management primer. He worked as a manager at J.C. Penney beginning in 1995, rose to general manager at Old Navy in 2004, and held a senior manager role at Apple in 2008. He parlayed that business and people-management experience into his legal career, opening Lundell Law Office in 2013.
At the law office he has handled a range of matters across North Carolina. He also maintains professional ties beyond the practice. Lundell has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2013 and the North Carolina Bar Association since 2010. He has taken leadership roles in community organizations as well, serving as past president of the Carolinas Umpires Association beginning in 2014 and as past president of the Weddington Heights Homeowners Association from 2014 to 2018.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in the office and straightforward in court. He draws on two decades of management experience when approaching client issues. The courtroom internships early in his legal career gave him a working knowledge of court procedures that he has applied in private practice.
Lundell’s practice is based in North Carolina and he has maintained an active membership in state and national bar groups since stepping into law. He continues to operate Lundell Law Office, where he manages the firm’s work and client relationships.
