About Kimberly

Kimberly Bowling trained at the University of Mississippi and earned her Juris Doctor in 1999. Her legal education coincided with a period of change in bankruptcy law, and she entered practice as the federal and state systems adapted to shifting economic conditions. She carries the perspective of a lawyer who came of age professionally at the turn of the century.

She built a practice centered on bankruptcy matters. Over the years she has handled filings, court appearances and negotiations that arise when individuals or businesses confront insolvency. Her work spans the procedural side of bankruptcy court and the practical decisions clients must make when weighing restructuring, repayment or liquidation.

Bowling maintains membership in The Tennessee Bar. That affiliation anchors her to the state’s legal community and the federal courts that hear insolvency cases. She also holds at least one other professional membership. Those ties give her regular contact with judges, trustees and fellow practitioners who contribute to the local bankruptcy bar’s day-to-day rhythm.

Colleagues describe her work as steady and detail-oriented. She manages the paperwork and deadlines that dominate bankruptcy practice. At the same time she prepares for hearings and contested matters, from plan confirmation to objections and adversary proceedings. She has experience in negotiating with creditors and trustees and in advising clients on timelines and likely outcomes.

Clients who come to her tend to be people or businesses facing immediate financial pressure. She helps them understand statutory deadlines, disclosure requirements and the relief available under chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. Her approach is pragmatic. She explains options and the procedural steps each choice entails. That clarity often helps clients make informed choices about repayment plans or liquidation.

In court, she presents factual records and legal arguments aimed at resolving contested issues quickly when possible. She pays attention to both the technical rules of procedure and the real-world consequences for clients trying to regain financial footing.

She currently practices as a bankruptcy lawyer and continues to represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings and related matters.
