About Khaliyq

Khaliyq Muhammad combines technical study and legal training in a practice shaped by both fields. He came to law after an undergraduate degree that examined the intersection of science, technology and culture. He then pursued graduate work in the management and markets of intellectual property before earning a law degree in Chicago.

Muhammad earned a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology where his coursework explored how technology influences society. He continued at the Illinois Institute of Technology for a master’s in Intellectual Property Management & Markets. He completed his legal education at Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Those academic choices inform his approach to legal problems. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and has oriented his work around issues that sit at the crossroads of law, innovation and commerce. His legal training is grounded in the procedural demands of litigation and transactional detail, while his technology studies provide a vocabulary for technical clients.

Muhammad practices from Muhammad Law LLC. He works on matters that commonly arise for businesses and individuals engaged in technology development, intellectual property matters and related commercial disputes. He handles counseling and document drafting as well as negotiation and dispute resolution. His background gives him familiarity with both the legal and nonlegal aspects of intellectual property portfolios and commercial arrangements.

Colleagues describe him as someone who translates technical concepts into clear legal options. He approaches cases by breaking complex issues into discrete questions. That method is useful in patent, trademark and contract contexts where technical description and precise language matter.

Outside of casework, Muhammad’s educational path suggests continuing interest in how markets and institutions shape intellectual property practice. He keeps current on legal developments that affect innovators and the companies that support them. He also works to align legal strategy with clients’ business goals, assessing risk against opportunity in practical terms.

He remains based in Illinois and practices from Muhammad Law LLC, where his work centers on intellectual property, technology-related legal issues and commercial matters.
