About Kevin R.
Kevin R. Grebas earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Scranton in 1993 and completed his J.D. at Dickinson School of Law in 1999. He stayed in Pennsylvania to build his legal career and has over two decades of involvement in matters affecting older adults and their families. His academic path led directly into roles that bridge legal practice and community services.
Early in his career Grebas joined local and state bar organizations. He is a long-standing member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and of county bar groups including the Lackawanna Bar Association and the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association. He joined the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys in 2003. Those memberships run alongside active participation in regional aging networks and interagency councils in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
Grebas holds certification as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) through the National Elder Law Foundation. That credential signals specific training and examination in areas central to older clients: planning for long-term care, Medicaid eligibility, and matters of incapacity and guardianship. His professional affiliations extend to a mix of legal and service organizations. He has served on the board of Serving Seniors, Inc. since 2017, and he has been part of the LIFE Geisinger Plan Advisory Committee since 2006. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Lawyers and the NEPA Aging Network Alliance.
Throughout his career Grebas has combined practice work with advisory roles in service organizations. Those roles put him in contact with social service providers, care managers, and public agencies. He has used that network to coordinate care planning and to advise families navigating complex benefits systems. His practice reflects a steady emphasis on the practical side of elder law: counseling clients on legal protections, preparing estate documents, and addressing eligibility for public benefits.
Today Grebas practices at Colbert & Grebas, P.C., where he continues to handle matters that affect seniors and their families. He maintains active ties to local service networks and legal associations while representing clients in Pennsylvania. He currently concentrates his practice on elder law and related estate-planning matters.
