About Kevin M.
Kevin M. Koel studied political science at the University of Colorado — Boulder and completed his law degree at New York Law School in 2002. He moved east for law school after finishing his undergraduate degree in 1998. Those academic years set the shape of a career that would span state and federal courts.
He began his recorded legal work as an associate in 2007 at Doré Law Group, P.C. The early years were rooted in firm practice and learning the routines of litigation and client work. He took on research, drafting, and courtroom preparation, the steady tasks that build a litigation practice.
In 2013 his résumé shows two entries that marked a transition. That year he worked as an associate at Jones Gill LLP and is also listed as Lawyer and Counselor at Law at Koel Law Office PLLC. The latter entry signals his move into a personal practice identity. Since 2013 he has maintained a role at Koel Law Office PLLC, handling matters from intake through resolution.
Koel is admitted to practice in Colorado and Texas, and he holds admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Those credentials allow him to represent clients across state lines and in federal appellate matters where admission to the circuit is required. He has experience in the procedural and evidentiary tasks that accompany filings at different court levels.
Outside of the office he has been active in the local bar. He has served as Vice President of the Katy Bar Association since 2013. That role has involved organizing local programming and working with colleagues on continuing legal education and community outreach. Colleagues describe him as steady in association work and reliable in committee settings.
His career combines time in firm environments and running a smaller practice. He has moved between associate roles and the responsibilities of counseling private clients. He continues to accept cases through Koel Law Office PLLC, drawing on admissions in Colorado, Texas and the Fifth Circuit to represent clients where those credentials are necessary. He currently concentrates his practice on client representation and legal counseling at Koel Law Office PLLC.
