About Kevin Jay
Kevin Jay Kohn earned his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, completing the degree in 1990 after beginning studies in 1987. His legal education coincided with a period of change in legal training nationwide. He entered practice at a time when courts and clients were adapting to evolving procedural rules and an expanding docket of civil matters.
Soon after law school, Kohn became involved with the Bronx County Bar Association in 1991. That early affiliation placed him in a borough known for a busy courthouse calendar and a diverse client base. Association work exposed him to local practice issues and connected him to other attorneys who handled a wide range of legal problems in New York.
Kohn is licensed to practice in New York. Over the years he has maintained a local practice that responds to the needs of individuals and businesses in the metropolitan area. His approach to client matters is straightforward. He emphasizes clarity in communication and practical solutions tailored to the circumstances each client brings to his office.
Colleagues describe Kohn as someone who prefers to let results speak for themselves. He has worked across matters that require both courtroom experience and negotiation skills. That mix of advocacy and transaction work is common among attorneys who maintain a small-office practice in New York, and Kohn’s day-to-day work reflects those demands.
He practices from the Kohn Law Office. The office handles filings, client meetings, and courtroom appearances in state courts. Kohn’s routine includes preparing pleadings, advising clients on procedural steps, and appearing where required in trial or hearing settings. He places importance on timely responsiveness and on setting realistic expectations for outcomes.
Outside of formal casework, Kohn has kept ties to the local bar community. Participation in bar association events and local legal circles has informed his understanding of changing court procedures and client needs. He continues to serve clients in matters that arise under New York law. He currently practices at the Kohn Law Office, representing clients in matters under New York law.
