About Kevin

Kevin Corlew built a legal education across several Midwestern institutions before entering practice. He holds a J.D. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Law (2005). Earlier studies include a B.A. in liberal arts from Columbia College (1995), attendance at Wheaton College for music and liberal arts, and an A.A. in general studies from the College of DuPage (1992). Those stops shape a background that mixes liberal arts, music, and formal legal training.

His first position after law school was a judicial clerkship. In 2005 he served as a law clerk to the Nebraska Supreme Court. That early exposure to appellate work and legal research set a practical foundation for his subsequent career in private practice and public service. He joined Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP as a lawyer in 2007, stepping into a large-firm environment that emphasized complex civil litigation.

Corlew has moved between private firms and public roles over the past two decades. He was a lawyer at Evans & Dixon, LLC in 2019. The following year he took a regional post at the U.S. Department of Labor. Before those positions he served locally as a member of the North Kansas City Schools board beginning in 2013 and then was elected to the Missouri General Assembly in 2015. That combination of school board, legislative experience, and federal administrative work gives him a perspective on how law and policy intersect at multiple levels of government.

In 2021 he founded PathGuide Law LLC and serves as its principal lawyer. Establishing his own firm marked a turn toward building a practice that integrates private-sector litigation skills and the regulatory experience he accumulated in public service. His career path shows repeated movement between courtroom work, administrative proceedings, and public-policy roles.

People who have worked with him describe a practitioner who handles litigation and administrative matters, advises on regulatory compliance, and participates in policy conversations arising from service in elected office. He has been admitted to practice in both Iowa and Missouri, and his résumé includes roles that required navigating state and federal regulatory frameworks.

He currently practices at PathGuide Law LLC, where his work concentrates on employment and labor issues, administrative matters, and civil litigation.
