About Kevin Charles
Kevin Charles Harp earned his law degree from Albany Law School in 2000 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in economics at the State University of New York at Albany in 1995. He finished his academic training at SUNY Albany five years before receiving his J.D., a course of study that set the stage for early entry into private practice. Those years shaped a foundation in legal reasoning and analysis that he carried into both courtroom and office settings.
He moved quickly into practice. In 2001 he became a partner at Haro & Harp, LLP. That position came shortly after law school and marked his first steady role in private practice. In 2004 he took a post as Senior Assistant District Lawyer in the Ulster County District Lawyer's Office. He spent time on the government side of the courthouse before returning to private practice later in his career. In 2012 he joined Mainetti, Mainetti & O'Connor, P.C. as an associate, adding experience at a different firm structure to his resume.
Those transitions — between partnership, public service and later associate work — reflect a career that has traversed multiple legal environments. He has worked in both firm and public offices, giving him familiarity with the administrative demands of a prosecutor’s office and the operational aspects of small and mid-size firms. He has maintained professional affiliations since 2001, an ongoing thread throughout his career that aligns with his years in practice.
Harp is licensed to practice in New York and has maintained offices in the Hudson Valley. His practice locations include Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, where he has served clients and worked with fellow lawyers across a range of matters. He continues to work from those offices and to represent clients in matters arising under New York law. He practices law in New York from offices in Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh.
