About Kevin

Kevin Burns earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston University in 1970 and went on to receive his J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1977. His academic path combined a liberal arts background with three years of formal legal training. Those years set the foundation for a long practice spanning state lines.

After finishing law school, Burns was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1977. He is also licensed to practice in New York. Over the decades that followed, he has handled matters that required familiarity with the procedural and substantive differences between the two states. He has maintained a steady presence in Connecticut courts while taking on matters that touch New York law when necessary.

Burns has been a member of the Connecticut State Bar since the year he was admitted. That ongoing membership has kept him connected to developments in state law and practice. Colleagues describe him as someone who relies on practical judgment and a knowledge of local court practices. He has worked with clients, other attorneys, and court personnel across a range of routine and complex filings.

His work has included representation in state trial courts and engagement with administrative processes that shape local outcomes. He has handled matters requiring attention to procedural timing, evidence rules, and statutory interpretation. Over time he built a practice style that favors clear, direct communication and careful preparation for hearings and filings.

Burns maintains an office in Connecticut from which he serves clients in both Connecticut and New York. He balances court appearances, client consultations, and the drafting and review of legal documents. In recent years he has continued to focus on matters arising in the two states where he is licensed, addressing issues that require cross-jurisdictional awareness and practical legal solutions. He now works chiefly on matters arising in Connecticut and New York.
