About Kent

Kent Lawrence combines an engineering undergraduate degree and a law degree in a career that spans three decades. He earned a B.S. from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale’s College of Engineering in 1989 and graduated from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1993. Those credentials set the stage for steady advancement in Georgia’s legal community.

He launched his own practice, Kenneth Lawrence PC, in 1996. Two years later he joined The Fears Firm as an associate. That move led to a partnership in 2002 when the firm became Fears, Lawrence & Turner, PC. In 2013 he continued with a new configuration as partner at Turner & Lawrence, PC. The sequence reflects both practice and firm development over time. It also places his professional life firmly within Georgia, where he has worked since the mid-1990s.

Lawrence’s résumé records a mix of solo practice and collaboration inside small and mid-size firms. Founding a firm early in his career meant handling a wide range of tasks beyond client matters, from case intake to running daily operations. Later partner roles involved shared decision-making and the kinds of caseload management that come with a multi-attorney practice.

His engineering background appears to influence his approach to legal work. He tends to emphasize methodical analysis and attention to detail. Those traits are visible in how he has moved between roles that required both technical comprehension and case strategy. Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who organizes information carefully and prepares matters with thoroughness.

Career milestones for Lawrence are practical rather than public. He has not relied on a single high-profile case to define his practice. Instead, his trajectory shows steady leadership within the firms he has joined and helped shape. That includes mentoring younger lawyers and participating in the operational side of firm life, such as staffing and workflow.

Throughout, his practice has remained anchored in Georgia courts and legal institutions. He has balanced practice demands with the administrative responsibilities of partnership and firm ownership. As of 2026 he continues to serve as a partner at Turner & Lawrence, PC, practicing law in Georgia and handling a range of matters for local clients.
