About Kenneth

Kenneth Mitchell began his career on Houston streets before he ever set foot in a courtroom. He served as a Houston Police Department officer starting in 2005, a period that shaped his view of evidence, procedure and the practical realities of criminal investigations. Those years on patrol and in investigative roles informed his later choice to study law.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston–Downtown in 2012 and later received his J.D. from the University of Houston in 2016. The combination of field experience and legal training gives him a perspective that spans both enforcement and defense. He is licensed to practice in Texas.

After law school he moved into private practice. He joined KVM Law Office as a lawyer in 2018, working on cases that drew on his police background. In 2022 he took a position with RB Legal Group, continuing to handle criminal matters and DUI-related cases. In 2023 he became an associate at Bush & Ramirez, PLLC, where he practices today. Those moves reflect a steady progression from street-level investigations to courtroom advocacy.

Mitchell maintains a range of professional certifications that speak to his investigative and interviewing skills. They include Advanced Accident Investigator training from Northwestern University, the Master Peace Officer credential from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and Standard Field Sobriety Test certification through the Houston Police Department. He also completed an Advanced Interview and Interrogation course with John E. Reid & Associates and the Investigator Basic Course at HPD. The credentials mirror the crossover of policing and legal work in his practice.

He belongs to several professional associations. He is a member of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He also holds a general membership in The National College for DUI Defense. Those affiliations keep him connected to peers who handle the same kinds of criminal and DUI matters in Texas courts.

Mitchell’s practice draws on both his years as a police officer and his courtroom experience. He handles criminal defense and DUI cases, often bringing practical investigative insight to case strategy. He is an associate at Bush & Ramirez, PLLC, and his current practice centers on criminal defense and DUI matters.
