About Kenneth
Kenneth Lerman built a legal path that bridges two states and two decades of practice. He studied at Clark University before earning his law degree from Emory University School of Law. Those academic choices set him on a course that would lead to membership in bar associations in both Connecticut and Florida.
After law school he established himself in private practice and maintained ties to both jurisdictions. He has been a member of the Florida State Bar since 1997 and holds membership in the Connecticut State Bar. Locally, he is active in the Hartford County Bar and has taken leadership roles in the Connecticut State Bar’s Business Law section, serving as vice chair and earlier as treasurer. Those positions have put him into regular contact with corporate counsel, judges, and other practitioners across the state.
His early years in practice involved the typical mix of litigation and transactional work encountered by small-firm and solo practitioners. Over time his caseload has shifted toward matters that arise from the intersection of business operations and the law. Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who prefers clear legal reasoning and pragmatic solutions over legal theory for its own sake.
Lerman has structured his practice through a small firm vehicle, Kenneth B. Lerman, P.C., and through a solo arrangement under his name. He has handled corporate governance questions, contract negotiations, and business entity matters for local and regional clients. The dual registration in Florida and Connecticut has allowed him to advise clients whose operations or contacts span state lines.
In professional circles he is known for steady participation rather than headline-making litigation. His work in the Business Law section of the Connecticut State Bar involved organizing panels, drafting section communications and helping manage the section’s fiscal affairs while treasurer. As vice chair he engages on policy and programming issues that affect business law practitioners across Connecticut.
Outside of bar activities he remains rooted in client work. He often represents small and medium-sized enterprises, advising on corporate structure, shareholder disputes and commercial contracts. He also handles ancillary matters that arise in business contexts, including certain civil litigation and transactional documentation.
He maintains active bar memberships in Connecticut and Florida and continues to practice through Kenneth B. Lerman, P.C. His current practice concentrates on business law, corporate matters, and commercial transactional work.
