About Kelvin
Kelvin Kesse earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2015 after beginning studies in 2012. He arrived in the legal profession armed with a national law degree and the sort of training that prepares graduates for work at large firms and in complex settings. His early career reflects that path.
Kesse began his practice in 2015 as an associate at Dorsey & Whitney LLP. He moved to DLA Piper LLP (US) in 2018, continuing as an associate. In 2020 he joined K&L Gates as an associate, then took an associate role at Goodwin Procter LLP in 2021. Norton Rose Fulbright hired him as a senior associate in 2022. In 2023 he left to establish Kesse PLLC, where he is a founding partner.
Those steps track a steady progression through several large firms. Each move brought new roles and responsibilities. The title change to senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright marked a shift toward greater leadership within firm teams. Founding his own firm in 2023 signaled a move to shape the structure and priorities of his practice directly.
Kesse is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, Texas and Washington. Those admissions allow him to take on matters that cross state lines and to advise clients in multiple U.S. jurisdictions. Working at national and international firms earlier in his career exposed him to matters that required coordination across offices and regulatory environments.
Throughout his time at large firms and now at his own practice, Kesse has handled work that required collaboration with colleagues in different regions and under varying procedural rules. He has built experience managing teams and handling matters that demand careful attention to jurisdictional differences. Colleagues describe him as someone who moves from associate-level tasks to firm leadership responsibilities without losing sight of case-level details.
At Kesse PLLC he leads a small practice that draws on his years at national and global firms. He represents clients across his admitted jurisdictions and manages matters that span multiple states. His current practice is concentrated on representing clients across those jurisdictions and coordinating legal work on multi-state matters.
