About Kelly

Kelly McClure trained first as a historian of law and then as a practitioner. She earned a B.A. from Fairfield University in 1981 and received her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1984. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas the same year, laying the groundwork for a long career in Texas courts.

Her early years in practice are marked by steady court work and growing involvement in bar organizations. She served on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee from 1992 to 1996. She has held memberships in the American Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association, and she remains active in local groups including the Collin County Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Her participation in Lawyers Serving the Community dates back to 1991, and she is a member of the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court.

McClure’s credentialing includes Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That certification is awarded to lawyers who meet experience and testing standards in family law and who maintain continuing education. It reflects a sustained practice in domestic relations matters rather than a brief period of involvement.

She is admitted to practice in multiple courts across Texas. Those admissions include the State of Texas, the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Such admissions permit her to handle trials in federal district courts and to participate in appeals before the Fifth Circuit when cases require it.

McClure is the managing partner and chief executive officer of McClure Law Group. In that role she oversees case strategy, client intake and firm operations. Her office handles contested family law hearings and settlements, and the firm appears in both trial courts and federal forums where jurisdiction is appropriate.

Colleagues and clients describe her practice as steady and courtroom-tested. She balances casework with bar activity, continuing to participate in local and national legal organizations. Her past committee work and current memberships underscore a career that spans both practice and professional service. Her current practice focuses on family law matters at McClure Law Group.
