Kelly A. Benedict earned her undergraduate degree in political science and psychology from Duke University in 1986. She went on to receive her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1990. Those academic choices set a foundation for a career that spans multiple jurisdictions and long-term involvement in workers’ compensation practice and policy.
Benedict is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia and New Jersey. That range of admissions has enabled a practice that crosses state lines when clients’ matters demand it. She also maintains local ties through membership in county and state bar associations in several of those jurisdictions.
She practices at Benedict & Torpey and is based in the firm’s Marietta office. Her professional affiliations include current memberships in the Cobb County Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar, Pennsylvania State Bar, North Carolina State Bar and Georgia State Bar. Outside the regular bar organizations, she has served on the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council since 1997 and sits on its Rules & Mediation Committee.
