About Kelli

Kelli Cooper built a straightforward path into the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Kansas State University and went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. Those years set the foundation for a practice that blends courtroom exposure, civic involvement and small-practice management.

Her earliest legal work came in corporate and criminal settings. In 2008 she served as a legal intern at General Electric. The next year she worked as a criminal defense legal intern while active in student organizations, including a vice-presidency with KU SALDF from 2008 to 2009. She has also held leadership roles in community groups dating back to 2008.

In 2010 she began practicing under the name Kelli Cooper, Lawyer at Law. She is admitted to practice in both Kansas and Missouri. Over the years she has maintained memberships in the Kansas Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association, both since 2010 and 2011 respectively. She joined the Kansas Women’s Lawyers Association in 2011.

Community work has been a consistent thread alongside her law practice. She has served on the board of Pets for Life since 2014. Her resume also lists long-running involvement with HBMDC, where she has held the title of president since 2008. Those roles sit alongside her bar association memberships and reflect steady civic engagement rather than occasional volunteer stints.

Her practice began as a solo effort and continues under the same name. The early internships in corporate and criminal settings inform the way she approaches client work. She handles matters across the state-level dockets where she is licensed and manages both the legal and administrative demands of a small practice.

Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who balances courtroom time, community roles and the day-to-day needs of running a firm. She remains active in professional associations and local boards while conducting her legal practice. She currently maintains her law practice in Kansas and Missouri, representing clients in state matters.
