About Keith

Keith Morris began his legal path after studying political science at Texas A&M International University, where he earned a B.A. in 1997. He went on to the University of Houston Law Center and received his J.D. in 2001. That same year he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and has maintained an active license since.

Morris built a practice grounded in probate and guardianship matters. Over the years he developed work in areas frequently tied to those fields, including representation for debtors and litigation in state courts. He belongs to several professional organizations that reflect those interests: the National Guardianship Association, the National College of Probate Judges and the Texas Guardianship Association. He is also active in local and statewide bar groups, including the Houston Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. Memberships in the Houston Association of Debtors Lawyers and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association speak to his regular exposure to contested matters and courtroom practice.

His career has combined courtroom work and the procedural side of estate and guardianship administration. He often handles filings, hearings and contested matters that arise when families, fiduciaries and courts disagree about capacity, management of assets or care decisions. Morris also represents individuals and entities in matters tied to personal financial distress, where debtor-creditor rules and bankruptcy-adjacent issues intersect with state probate processes.

Morris practices at Keith Morris & Stacy Kelly, Lawyers at Law. The firm handles probate petitions, guardianship appointments, conservatorships and related disputes. He works with clients across Texas, appearing in county probate courts and in other state forums where these disputes are heard. Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as direct in court and careful in drafting pleadings; he tends to favor clear, procedural approaches to resolving contested matters.

He keeps active in local bar activities and probate organizations, attending seminars and participating in forums where judges and practitioners discuss evolving probate and guardianship practice. That ongoing involvement helps him stay current on changes in rules and emerging case law that affect how courts handle capacity and estate administration questions.

He currently practices in Texas, concentrating on guardianship, probate and debtor-related litigation and representation.
