About Keith
Keith Krissoff has been part of Maryland's legal community for decades. He earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 1976. The year of his graduation places him among a generation of lawyers who came of age during a period of significant legal change in the state.
After law school, Krissoff built a practice grounded in Maryland law. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and has maintained an active presence in local legal circles. Over the years he has handled matters across the criminal justice system, representing clients in trial courts and advising on procedural and substantive issues that arise in criminal cases.
Krissoff's professional life has been shaped by long-standing ties to bar organizations. He holds memberships in the Maryland State Bar Association, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, and the Maryland Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. These affiliations have kept him connected to developments in criminal law and to peers who focus on defense work. He has attended meetings and participated in discussions that range from sentencing law to evidentiary practice.
Colleagues describe Krissoff as methodical. He approaches cases by assessing the record, identifying legal levers, and preparing for courtroom presentation. He has spent much of his career handling jury trials, bench trials, plea negotiations, and pretrial motions. His experience includes arguing motions in state court and advising clients on the practical consequences of different courses of action. He balances research and litigation preparation with attention to the immediate needs of clients facing criminal charges.
Outside of court, Krissoff has engaged with the legal community through local bar activities and professional events. His long tenure in practice has made him a familiar presence in Anne Arundel County legal circles. Younger lawyers consult older case law and procedural practice; seasoned practitioners consult colleagues on strategy and tactics. Krissoff has been part of those professional exchanges.
Today he continues to work in Maryland, handling criminal defense matters and related litigation. He remains active in the state bar groups that are central to his day-to-day work. His current practice focuses on criminal defense in Maryland.
