About Kathryn M.
Kathryn M. Lammers began her path to the law after studying how stories are told. She earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism from Arizona State University in 2002 and then pursued legal training at Hamline University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2006. Those early years combined an interest in communication with formal legal education.
She entered practice immediately after law school. In 2006 she worked as a lawyer at Anderson Lammers, LLC. The following year she joined Patrick Burns and Associates as an associate. By 2009 she became a partner at Heimerl & Lammers, LLC, a role she has held since. Lammers is admitted to practice in Iowa and Minnesota, and she is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
Her credentials include board certification as a Family Trial Advocate from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She is SENE and FENE certified and serves as a Rule 114 qualified neutral mediator. Those qualifications reflect an emphasis on trial work, early neutral evaluation processes and mediated resolutions in family law matters.
Lammers has been active in professional groups throughout her career. She became a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2020. She has maintained membership in the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts since 2012 and in the Douglas Amdahl Inn of Court and the Family Law Bush League since 2008. Her bar memberships include the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association, both since 2006. She previously held membership in the Minnesota Association for Justice from 2011 to 2015. Those affiliations reflect long-term engagement with peers and continuing education in family law.
In practice Lammers handles contested matters and alternative dispute resolution. She appears in court for parenting and financial disputes, conducts settlement negotiations and serves as a mediator and neutral evaluator when cases are referred for those processes. Colleagues and clients have noted her courtroom experience alongside her roles in mediation and evaluation. She continues to practice at Heimerl & Lammers, LLC, concentrating on family law, trial work, mediation and related dispute-resolution services.
