About Kathryn C
Kathryn C Rolewick built a path to law that began outside of the courthouse. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College in 2004. That early study of behavior and decision-making would later inform her legal work. She returned to school and received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2013.
Her resume mixes courtroom-adjacent roles and firm experience. In 2003 she worked as a trust administrative officer for U.S. Trust, Bank of America N.A., handling tasks common to private wealth administration. After college she joined Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C. as a legal assistant in 2007. While in law school she served as a research assistant to Professor Michael Kaufman in 2010, then spent a summer in 2012 clerking for Justice Ann Jorgensen at the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District. That set of positions gave her exposure to legal research, written advocacy and the mechanics of appellate decision-making.
She returned to Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C. as an associate lawyer in 2016. That move formalized a long relationship with the firm. Earlier roles there familiarized her with client intake, drafting and file management. As an associate she took on expanded responsibilities and appeared for the firm in matters that required courtroom presence and negotiated resolutions.
Rolewick is licensed to practice in Illinois. She joined the DuPage County Bar Association in 2013 and added membership in the Chicago Bar Association in 2014. Those bar groups are part of her professional network and a source of continuing legal education.
Colleagues describe her as steady in court and thorough in preparation. She mixes a background in financial administration with experience across law office functions and appellate work. The combination gives her a practical sense of how cases develop from client intake to final disposition.
Her career arc shows a steady accumulation of legal experience rather than abrupt shifts. From trust administration to research and to a judicial internship, each step added another layer of practical skill. Today she works at Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C., where she handles the firm’s client matters and maintains an active Illinois practice.
