About Katelyn

Katelyn Bounds earned her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2016. She moved into Minnesota practice after finishing law school and has built a practice tied to disability and workers' compensation law. Her early career was shaped by the practical demands of administrative proceedings and client advocacy. Those elements remain central to the work she does today.

Her practice centers on helping people navigate the complex systems that determine disability benefits and workers' compensation awards. She represents clients at administrative hearings and in appeals, working through medical records, benefit applications, and procedural deadlines. The work requires patience and an eye for detail. It also demands steady communication with clients who are often dealing with medical hardship.

She is admitted to practice in Minnesota and has focused her caseload on matters that intersect state and federal disability systems. That specialization often means coordinating with medical providers, vocational experts, and insurers. It also means an emphasis on preparing thorough case records and presenting evidence in administrative settings where documentation carries the day.

Colleagues describe her as deliberate in strategy and clear in explanation. She aims to make the legal process more understandable for people who are unfamiliar with it. She listens to clients’ histories, frames the key issues for decision-makers, and follows through on procedural steps that can determine appeal outcomes. Her courtroom appearances are matched by time spent gathering records and drafting arguments for administrative judges.

Since joining Midwest Disability Work Comp, P.A., she has continued to handle a mix of initial claims and appeals. The firm setting provides access to support for investigative and medical-record work, which can be critical in disability and workers’ compensation cases. Clients receive guidance on timelines, evidentiary needs, and options when benefits are delayed or denied.

Outside the office she maintains connections in the Minnesota legal community. Those relationships support referrals and occasional collaboration on complex matters. She keeps current on developments in disability rules and workers’ compensation law to ensure clients receive up-to-date advice.

She currently practices at Midwest Disability Work Comp, P.A., concentrating on social security disability and workers' compensation matters in Minnesota.
