About Karyn

Karyn Seace built her academic foundation across three Pennsylvania universities. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Temple University (1996), a Juris Doctor from Widener University (2003) and an LL.M. from Villanova University (2006). Those degrees framed an interest in legal issues that affect older adults and veterans.

She entered legal practice after law school and became a partner at Nescio & Seace, LLP in 2012. That period shaped her day-to-day experience handling estate planning, Medicaid matters, and issues that arise at the intersection of elder care and public benefits. In 2023 she opened Seace Elder Law, PLLC, moving from a partnership model to running her own firm.

Her credentials underline a specialty in elder law. She is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation. She also holds accreditation from Pennsylvania Veterans Affairs to represent veterans before VA systems and is an IRS-paid tax preparer. Those qualifications allow her to advise on benefits eligibility, pension and VA claims, and certain tax-related aspects of estate and benefits planning.

Locally, she takes on professional roles beyond her practice. She is a current member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and its Pennsylvania chapter. In Chester County she serves as co-chair of the Elder Law Section and sits on the Chester County Elder Abuse Task Force. She is also active in the Chester County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Those memberships put her in regular conversation with judges, county agencies and social service providers involved in elder care.

Seace’s work tends to involve both planning and advocacy. She prepares and updates wills, trusts and powers of attorney. She works on Medicaid eligibility and planning, and on veterans’ benefits claims where VA accreditation is required. She also engages in matters that come up in elder abuse investigations, guardianship proceedings and other court processes relevant to older adults.

Colleagues describe her practice as methodical and detail-oriented. Clients typically consult her for practical guidance about how public benefits and private planning interact. She balances document drafting with representation when hearings or appeals are necessary.

Seace operates Seace Elder Law, PLLC in Pennsylvania, where she continues to represent older adults, their families and veterans. Her current practice focuses on elder law, veterans’ benefits, estate planning and Medicaid planning.
