About Justin St.

Justin St. James built a varied academic foundation before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Science from Boston University, then completed a J.D. at Massachusetts School of Law. Those three degrees sit at the center of a career that blends analytical training with creative thinking.

After law school he entered the Massachusetts legal community. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. That combination of state and federal admissions has shaped how he approaches cases: prepared for trial-level matters in state court and for appellate advocacy when appeals arise.

His memberships reflect steady involvement in local and statewide legal circles. He holds active memberships in the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Lawrence Bar Association. He is also active in the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, a sign of ongoing ties to the regional business community. Those affiliations provide regular contact with colleagues across different practice areas and with community leaders outside the bar.

Colleagues describe his work as practical and detail-oriented. He applies the technical legal training from Massachusetts School of Law to the procedural demands of litigation and appeals. His Boston University studies contribute to an interest in both empirical analysis and clear presentation. That mix shows in courtroom filings and written submissions meant for judges and opposing counsel.

St. James’s practice has involved matters that require movement between trial courts and appellate review. His admission to the First Circuit allows him to take appeals when federal questions or circuit-level review are appropriate. He has navigated the different pacing and format that appeals demand, preparing briefs and presenting legal arguments for appellate panels.

Outside the courtroom, he keeps up through bar programs and local business events. Membership in the Merrimack Valley Chamber places him in conversations about regional economic issues. At the same time, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Lawrence Bar Association offer continuing legal education and professional networks that inform his daily work.

As a licensed Massachusetts attorney admitted to the First Circuit, he balances trial practice and appellate advocacy. His current practice focuses on state and federal litigation and appellate work.
