About Justin Essa
Justin Essa Zayid built his path to law through two Midwestern schools. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 2013. He completed his Juris Doctor at Wayne State University Law School in 2016. Those classroom years set the stage for a career spent largely in litigation and courtroom practice.
While still a student, Zayid collected practical experience in several public and private settings. In 2011 he worked as a legal intern at The Sam Bernstein Law Office. In 2014 he spent time in a federal courtroom as a judicial extern for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. That same year he served as a summer associate at Bodman LLP and as a legal extern with the United States Attorney’s Office. Those placements exposed him to courtroom procedure and the practical demands of trial preparation.
After law school he joined Bowman and Brooke LLP as an associate in 2016. At the firm he handled litigation tasks typical for junior trial lawyers: drafting briefs, taking part in discovery, preparing witnesses and supporting trial teams. The position offered steady courtroom work and the chance to move cases through state and federal systems.
Zayid later established ZAYID LAW P.C., where he is principal and manages day-to-day practice operations. He has admitted practice across three jurisdictions: Illinois, the District of Columbia and Michigan. That multi-jurisdictional standing allows him to pursue matters for clients in different forums and to respond to disputes that cross state lines.
Outside the office he maintains ties to local and community organizations. He has been a member of the Chaldean Chamber of Commerce since 2019 and holds membership in the Oakland County Bar Association since 2016. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with both the legal community and local business groups.
Colleagues describe Zayid as steady in court and attentive in client meetings. He has moved from student internships to federal externships and then into private practice, following a course familiar to many litigators. His work has involved state and federal procedures, and he continues to appear in courts across his admitted jurisdictions. He manages ZAYID LAW P.C. and serves clients through litigation and courtroom representation.
He concentrates his practice on litigation in state and federal courts across Illinois, the District of Columbia and Michigan.
