About Justin B.

Justin B. Shapiro earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in 2007 and completed his law degree at the University of Miami School of Law in 2011. He arrived at law school after an undergraduate education that emphasized critical thinking and public affairs. The timeline of his education put him on a fast track into practice in Florida.

While a law student he worked in public and governmental settings. In 2007 he interned in the Office of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. He later spent time at the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office in 2009, gaining exposure to courtroom procedure and client advocacy. Those early roles preceded a law clerk position at Leesfield & Partners, P.A. in 2010, where he began building experience on real cases and in trial preparation.

Following law school, Shapiro joined Leesfield & Partners as a trial lawyer and partner in 2011. He has remained with the firm since then. The shift from clerk to trial lawyer and partner occurred rapidly, and his career has been based at the same firm where he started his clerkship. Over the years he has taken on responsibilities typical of trial lawyers, including case development, litigation strategy and courtroom work in Florida venues.

Shapiro is a member of the Florida State Bar and holds membership in the Dade County Bar Association. He was admitted to practice in Florida in 2011 and maintains an active license. Those affiliations connect him to the local legal community and to practice developments across the state.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who handles the day-to-day demands of litigation. He prepares pleadings, manages discovery and represents clients at hearings and trials. He has experience navigating the procedural landscape of Florida courts and working with expert witnesses and opposing counsel to advance his clients’ positions.

Today Shapiro serves as a partner and trial lawyer at Leesfield & Partners. His practice is based in Florida and centers on litigation and trial work in state courts. He continues to be involved in courtroom advocacy and the management of cases from filing through resolution.
