About Justice J. Brooks

Justice J. Brooks I built his legal foundation in Alaska before settling into practice in Arkansas. He earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Alaska–Anchorage in 2006 and followed that with an MBA from Alaska Pacific University in 2008. He returned to Arkansas to study law and received his J.D. from the William H. Bowen School of Law in 2014.

His first post-law-school position was at Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC in 2014, where he began work as an associate. That role introduced him to firm practice and client work in Little Rock. Four years later he moved to Cable Huston LLP, joining the firm as a lawyer in 2018. Those moves track a steady progression from junior associate into a mid-career firm attorney.

Brooks is admitted to practice in Arkansas and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has handled matters that required appearances at state and federal levels, and his background reflects both trial preparation and appellate briefing. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and attentive to procedural detail.

Outside the office he has taken on a series of volunteer and leadership roles. He has served on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law Alumni Board since 2018. He was president of the W. Harold Flowers Law Society from 2017 to 2018. He also served on the board of the Greater Arkansas Chapter of the Red Cross during 2017–2018, and he was a member of the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel from 2016 through 2018. Those positions reflect an interest in professional organization work and community service.

Brooks brings an MBA and a liberal arts background to legal practice, a combination that shapes how he approaches case strategy and client communication. He balances legal analysis with attention to organizational and business concerns. He splits his time between courtroom preparation, motion practice, and client counseling, and he remains active in alumni and civic circles.

He practices at Cable Huston LLP and is admitted in Arkansas and the Eighth Circuit. He currently concentrates his practice at Cable Huston LLP on civil defense and litigation matters.
