About Juliette
Juliette Passer began her professional life on a musical path. She trained as a harpist and conductor at the Manhattan School of Music, earning a B.A. in 1977 and an M.A. in 1981. After additional study at New York University in 1984, she turned toward the law, completing a J.D. at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1987 and attending Columbia Law School in 1988. The combination of arts training and legal study shaped an unusual early career and an unconventional perspective on complex transactions.
Her legal career took shape in New York. In 1990 she joined Debevoise & Plimpton as a lawyer. That early period exposed her to high-stakes corporate work and large law firm practice. By 1994 she was at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, where she continued to deepen her experience in corporate and transactional matters. Those years formed the foundation for a move into in-house and project-focused work.
In 1996 Passer moved to International Project Development Group, LLC in New York. That role broadened her exposure to international deals and project development, including interactions across jurisdictions and commercial sectors. She later transitioned into corporate counsel roles, taking on responsibilities that combined legal analysis with operational oversight.
Since 2007 she has served as general counsel at PanaManagement Corporation. In that capacity she has handled corporate governance, contract negotiations and regulatory compliance matters. Her role required regular engagement with boards, executives and external advisors. It also drew on her earlier international project experience, given the company’s cross-border activities.
Passer is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She has been a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations since 1993 and has belonged to the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama since 2007. She is also a Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Those affiliations reflect a sustained interest in corporate governance and international commercial relations.
She has completed executive education on equity, diversity and inclusion in higher education at the University of Michigan and a course on understanding diversity and inclusion at Purdue University. Her work spans corporate governance, cross-border transactions and compliance. She currently serves as general counsel and continues to advise on corporate and international matters.
