About Julia
Julia Wobbe trained at Santa Clara University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 2012 and completed a Public Interest and Social Justice Certificate. She completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Sacramento, receiving a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a pre‑law emphasis in 2009. Those years shaped an interest in courtroom work and public defense that informed the early stages of her career.
She began her post‑degree legal work in Santa Clara County. In 2012 she served as a post‑bar intern in the Office of the Public Defender, handling preliminary case work and client interviews while preparing for bar admission. The following year she took a position as a deputy public defender in Tulare County. That role involved courtroom appearances on misdemeanor and felony matters and steady exposure to trial practice in a county prosecutor‑defender context.
Also in 2013 she worked as an independent contractor and contract lawyer for Santa Clara County. Those contracting stints required rapid intake work and short‑notice courtroom advocacy. The mix of staff public defender work and contract assignments gave her experience across a range of client situations and procedural settings.
Wobbe later moved into private practice as an associate at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP. There she shifted emphasis toward tenant law and housing matters. Her practice includes representation in rent control disputes, habitability claims, and unlawful detainer defense. She appears in housing courts and administrative hearings, often handling cases where tenants face eviction or habitability issues. She is licensed in California and has continued to work primarily on housing and tenant matters in the Bay Area.
Outside of casework she has held memberships in local bar groups. She has been a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco since 2016. Earlier, she belonged to the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California from 2012 to 2013. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with professional networks in the region.
Colleagues and clients cite her courtroom experience and background in public defense as elements that inform how she approaches tenant representation. She splits time among the firm’s offices serving San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose and handles both litigation and pre‑litigation settlement efforts. She currently practices at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP, handling tenant law matters in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.
