About Jude

Jude Nelson built his legal foundation at the State University of New York College at Cortland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, and continued to law school at Western Michigan University, where he received his Juris Doctor. His educational path combined a broad undergraduate curriculum with three years of law study, preparing him for a career that has moved between firm leadership and casework.

Early in his professional life Nelson took on managerial responsibilities. In 2009 he became managing partner at The Law Office of Osei and Nelson. That role put him in a position to shape case intake, supervise attorneys and guide day-to-day operations. Those years tested his administrative skills as much as his legal judgment.

In 2015 he founded The Law Office of Nelson & Associates P.A., establishing a firm under his own name. As founding partner he has overseen the firm’s growth and its handling of complex client matters. The move to open his own practice marked a shift from managing within a partnership to setting strategic direction and building a caseload around areas he and his colleagues handle.

Nelson is licensed to practice law in New Jersey. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2007, a long-standing affiliation that runs alongside his firm work. That membership signals a sustained interest in immigration issues and professional engagement with colleagues who practice in that field. Over time he has combined casework with the routine responsibilities of running a small firm, balancing client representation and practice management.

Colleagues and clients describe Nelson as practical and detail-oriented in his work. He tends to approach matters by breaking down complex problems into discrete steps and addressing each in sequence. He has navigated both courtroom and administrative settings, and he understands how firm processes affect client outcomes. He has not pursued public office or published widely, and his public profile centers on the two firms he has led.

Today Nelson maintains an active practice in New Jersey. He continues to manage firm operations while handling cases that reflect his long-term involvement in immigration-related matters. His current practice focuses on immigration law and related services in New Jersey.
