About Joshua M.

Joshua M. Pendergrass built a steady legal path from a small liberal arts campus to a courtroom clerkship and then into private practice. He studied political science as an undergraduate and finished law school five years later.

Pendergrass earned a B.S. in Political Science from Lambuth University in 2003. He returned to Montgomery for law school and received his J.D. from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2008. Those years set the foundation for work both inside the courthouse and in county government.

His first recorded legal position came in 2010 when he served as a law clerk to the Honorable John B. Bush of Alabama’s 19th Judicial Circuit. The clerkship gave him direct exposure to trial procedure and judicial decision-making. It was a year that linked academic training to the daily demands of courtroom practice.

In 2011 Pendergrass’s résumé shows a cluster of roles. He is listed as Director of Operations for the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office that year. The post placed him in an administrative role in local law enforcement, overseeing office functions and logistical matters. That same year he was named a partner at Watson, Watson, Pendergrass & Ross. Also in 2011 he established Pendergrass Law Office, LLC and is noted as its owner and senior partner. These positions indicate a transition into both firm leadership and county administration.

The combination of a judicial clerkship, a partnership at an established firm and a managerial role in the sheriff’s office suggests a lawyer comfortable in multiple settings. He has experience inside a judge’s chambers, in the operational side of county law enforcement and in private practice management. Those strands feed into how he approaches cases and client matters today.

Pendergrass is licensed to practice in Alabama. He has maintained a practice based in the state since his early professional years. His office history and roles reflect a career that crosses courtroom work and local government administration.

As of 2026 he continues to operate Pendergrass Law Office, LLC. He practices law in Alabama as the owner and senior partner of Pendergrass Law Office, LLC.
