About Joshua
Joshua Garrett earned his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2011, completing coursework and training in trial advocacy. He entered the legal field after law school and practices in Missouri. His legal education emphasized courtroom procedure and advocacy skills, and those foundations have informed his work since graduating.
Garrett’s involvement in the Taney County legal community began early. He served as vice president of the Taney County Bar Association from 2013 until 2015. Colleagues elected him president in 2015, a role he continues to hold. In those leadership posts he helped organize local programs for lawyers, arranged continuing legal education events, and represented the county’s bench and bar in county-wide discussions.
Beyond bar leadership, Garrett holds certifications that affect day-to-day practice. He is certified as a Guardian Ad Litem through the Missouri Bar Association. That credential means courts may appoint him to represent the interests of children or other parties in contested matters. He is also listed on the Missouri Supreme Court’s Rule 12 List of Mediators, an official roster of professionals qualified to serve in court-ordered mediations. Those credentials position him to work on cases that require court-appointed representation or neutral dispute resolution.
His practice is based at The Garrett Law Office. There he accepts appointments and private matters arising in Missouri courts. Clients and court officials know him for steady participation in cases that involve appointed guardianship roles and for acting as a mediator in disputes referred to the Rule 12 list. He combines courtroom training from law school with practical experience gained through years of local practice and bar service.
Garrett’s record in the Taney County Bar Association frames much of his public profile. Longstanding service in association leadership has given him familiarity with local court procedures and the informal networks that shape how cases proceed in the county. He maintains an active presence in the county legal community and continues to take on appointments and matters that require the certifications he holds.
He currently practices at The Garrett Law Office, handling guardian ad litem assignments and serving as a Rule 12 listed mediator in Missouri.
