About Joshua D.

Joshua D. Shulman earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary in 2004, a Juris Doctor from Dickinson School of Law in 2007 and a Master of Arts from Pennsylvania State University in 2016. Those academic stops mark a steady progression into law and public service. The degrees reflect both courtroom training and later graduate-level study that informed his approach to practice.

He entered private practice in 2007 at Shulman & Shabbick. That early period established his courtroom and client-service foundations. Over the next decade he combined private work with expanding ties to local bar groups. He joined the Northampton County Bar Association and the Carbon County Bar Association in 2008 and has maintained those memberships since.

In 2018 he took on a public role as Assistant Solicitor for Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The position added municipal work to his portfolio and required advising on local government matters. One year later he launched his own firm, Shulman Law Office PC, where he is listed as owner and lawyer. The move brought him back to private practice while preserving an ongoing relationship with county-level legal work.

Shulman is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. His professional affiliations include the Pennsylvania State Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Lawyers. He also holds membership in The LGBT Bar. Those associations indicate areas of professional interest and a patient engagement with both elder-law issues and the concerns of LGBT legal practitioners.

Colleagues and clients describe a lawyer who balances courtroom experience with municipal advising and client counseling. His career path shows a blend of public-sector and private-sector roles. He has kept active in local bar associations while building his own practice, a choice that has widened his network across county and state lines.

Shulman Law Office PC remains his base of operations. He continues to accept matters that draw on his years in private practice and on his municipal experience. He practices in Pennsylvania and in the federal court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and currently handles elder-law, estate-related and local government legal matters at his firm.
