About Joshua D.
Joshua D. Ramirez studied law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he completed both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in Tax. He combined classroom study of trusts, estates and tax with practical training in clinic and internship settings while in law school. Those academic credentials shaped the direction of his work after graduation.
He joined OC Elder Law early in his career and became a partner there in 2013. At the firm he built a practice that intersects elder law and tax issues. He handles matters that require planning, technical tax analysis and hands-on navigation of administrative processes for older adults and their families.
Ramirez holds accreditation as a VA accredited lawyer through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. That credential allows him to assist veterans and surviving spouses in preparing claims and appeals for VA benefits. It also complements his estate-planning practice when clients seek to protect their benefits and coordinate them with other sources of income or public assistance.
He is active in professional and community organizations across Orange County. He has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 2015 and belongs to the Orange County Bar Association and its Elder Law Section since 2014. He also participates in local chambers of commerce in North Orange County and Corona, and serves on the board of Crittenton Services for Children and Families. Those roles keep him connected to referral networks and to nonlegal service providers who work with seniors and families.
Ramirez’s work typically involves estate planning documents such as wills and trusts, probate and conservatorship matters, and planning for long-term care and public benefits. He draws on his tax training when clients face complex income or property tax questions tied to transfers, trusts or benefit eligibility. The combination of elder-law practice and tax knowledge informs both litigation-related matters and preventive planning for clients concerned about preserving assets and benefits.
OC Elder Law maintains offices in Fullerton and Corona, where Ramirez meets with clients and handles local filings. His practice draws on litigation support, administrative advocacy for veterans’ claims, and tax-aware planning. His current practice centers on elder law, veterans benefits and tax-related planning for older adults and their families.
