About Josey Lyne
Josey Lyne Payne completed a bachelor’s degree at Bridgewater State College in 2006, studying criminal justice, communications and psychology. She returned to Massachusetts to earn her J.D. from New England Law | Boston in 2013, where her coursework included family law, criminal law and corporate law. Those academic choices shaped the range of matters she would later handle in practice.
Payne began her early legal career in private firms. In 2014 she served of counsel at Sullivan & Comerford, P.C., providing support on matters that spanned civil and family issues. The following year she took on a senior associate role at Stevenson, Lynch & Owens, P.C., where she handled more complex casework and courtroom responsibilities. By 2017 she launched her own practice, founding the Law Office of Josey Lyne Payne, Esq.
Her admissions include the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Federal Circuit. Beyond bar admission, Payne holds several professional credentials. She is authorized to provide limited assistance representation in the Massachusetts Trial Court Probate and Family Court Department and is a commissioned notary public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She also holds a paralegal credential from Bridgewater State University, a background that informs how she manages case preparation and client intake.
Payne has been a member of the Plymouth County Bar Association since 2014. That local involvement has kept her connected to county court practices and procedural developments. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in court and methodical in preparation. Her earlier roles in larger firms offered steady exposure to courtroom procedure, negotiation and client counseling.
Her practice covers a mix of family, criminal and corporate matters. She handles divorce and probate-related work alongside criminal defense engagements and business-related disputes. Cases range from contested family court matters to representation before federal forums when jurisdiction requires it. She manages filings, hearings and settlement discussions, and represents clients through trial when necessary.
Payne practices from the Law Office of Josey Lyne Payne, Esq. in Massachusetts, where she maintains a small office presence and provides both courtroom representation and limited-assistance consultations. She continues to accept matters in family law, criminal defense and corporate disputes.
