About Joseph R. Jay

Joseph R. Jay West has built a steady career in litigation and corporate claims that spans several decades. He began his legal work in the late 1980s and moved into in-house roles as industry issues grew more complex. His path shows steady movement between firm litigation work and corporate counsel responsibilities.

Early in his career he worked as an associate in the litigation section at Thorp, Reed & Armstrong in 1988. That post put him into courtroom preparation, discovery and contested matters. The position offered front-line experience in civil litigation and helped shape his approach to managing disputes and client expectations.

By 1990 he was serving as corporate counsel handling claims and litigation for Pharmor, Inc. In that role he managed contested claims on behalf of the company and provided legal advice on risk exposure. The in-house experience broadened his perspective. He moved from handling discrete litigation tasks to advising on how legal risk intersected with business decisions.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Those credentials reflect both state-level and federal trial-court experience. Over the years he has combined courtroom practice and corporate counseling, toggling between case work and advising business clients.

West currently practices at West & Zuberbuhler, P.C. There he applies the litigation experience he accumulated at a regional law firm and in corporate counsel work to represent clients in claims and dispute matters. His work touches on litigation strategy, handling discovery and preparing cases for trial or resolution, while also addressing legal issues that arise in the course of corporate operations. He maintains a practice that centers on claims and litigation and corporate-related legal work.
