About Joseph

Joseph Harvath built a professional path that combines law and numbers. He earned a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law where he studied criminal law. Before that he completed a B.S. in Accounting and Finance at Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis. The mix of legal training and a solid accounting background shapes how he approaches client matters.

His early career included work outside the courtroom. In 2007 he worked as an auditor for Brown Smith Wallace, LLC. That experience exposed him to detailed financial reporting, audits and regulatory compliance. The time in accounting practice gave him practical tools for reviewing records and preparing evidence that later proved useful in legal matters that involve financial complexity.

Harvath is an active member of the Missouri Bar. He also holds admission to practice before the Federal Circuit. Locally, he belongs to several professional groups: the St. Charles County Bar Association, the St. Louis County Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. These memberships keep him connected to developments in state and federal practice and to colleagues across the region.

Over the years he moved from auditing into full-time legal practice. He applies the analytical habits learned in accounting to case preparation. That shows up in how he reviews discovery, prepares expert materials and dissects financial evidence. His legal education at Saint Louis University School of Law provided classroom study in criminal law, and his subsequent work has focused on applying those principals to everyday client issues.

He practices out of JMH Law Office, maintaining offices in Brentwood and in St. Charles. In that setting he handles courtroom matters, pretrial work and client counseling. He represents individuals and responds to matters that touch on both criminal statutes and financial regulation. He is comfortable working in state court across Missouri and on matters that proceed to the Federal Circuit.

Colleagues describe him as thorough and precise in document review. Clients note a pragmatic approach to building their cases. He balances courtroom readiness with attention to the paperwork and records that often determine outcomes. His practice is rooted in the combination of criminal law training and an accounting background.

He currently focuses his practice on criminal law and on matters that involve complex financial records.
