Born in Modesto, California, in 1953, Mr. Fagundes relocated to Hawaii in 1956 — His early years in Hawaii shaped his appreciation for the diverse culture and community. In 1976, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. This foundational education set the stage for his legal career. Four years later, in 1980, he graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa William S. Richardson School of Law, further solidifying his commitment to the legal profession. Throughout his career, Mr.
Fagundes has been actively engaged in various professional organizations. His leadership skills were evident when he served as President of the West Hawaii Bar Association. Additionally, he was a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association's Board of Directors from 1988 to 1991.
